ÆttHQ is a planner for families: plans, tasks, lists, check-ins and a family feed, shared with the people you live with. It is built so that your family's data stays with your family. ÆttHQ keeps no data on servers of its own (its one small web service, used only when an account is deleted, stores nothing), shows no ads, has no analytics or tracking, and contains no third-party code that collects data. The developer cannot see your family's data.
Where your data is kept
- On your iPhone. Everything you add is stored on your device.
- In your own iCloud. When you set up a family, its plans, tasks, lists, posts, photos, check-ins and places are kept in the iCloud account of the person who set it up, using Apple's CloudKit. They are shared, through iCloud sharing, only with the family members that person invites or allows. Apple protects this data with your Apple Account; see Apple's privacy policy.
- Family codes. If you use a family code to join, the family's name, the first name of the person who set it up and the name of the person asking to join are stored for a short time in the app's public iCloud area, so the two phones can find each other. A code expires after 48 hours, and these records are deleted once they have been used, or within seven days.
What ÆttHQ uses, and why
- Sign in with Apple: to recognise you on your device. ÆttHQ asks only for your name, never your e-mail address. When you delete your account, you sign in with Apple once more and the one-time code from that is sent to aetthq.no, which uses it only to end ÆttHQ's access to your Apple Account with Apple. It isn't stored.
- Names, colours and, if you add them, phone numbers or e-mail addresses of family members: to show who is who and to send invitations. Invitations are sent from your own Messages or Mail.
- Location (optional): only when you check in, open the Map, or turn on "Share live location". With live location on, your family sees where you are, your battery level and whether you are driving, and gets alerts when you arrive at or leave places you have saved, such as home or school. ÆttHQ uses your bigger moves, not constant GPS, and you can turn it off at any time in the app or in Settings.
- Calendars (optional): ÆttHQ reads the calendars you choose on your iPhone. Only the events you choose to share are copied into the family's plan. Your calendars are never changed.
- Camera, photos and documents (optional): to post photos to the family feed and to scan school plans, letters and other documents. Scans are read on your iPhone with Apple's text recognition and Apple Intelligence. A scanned page is not saved or sent anywhere; only the plans and tasks you choose to add are.
- Apple Intelligence (optional): suggestions and document reading run on your iPhone, with Apple's on-device model. Nothing is sent to the developer or to anyone else.
- Apple Maps: place search, directions and place names are provided by Apple Maps under Apple's privacy policy.
- Notifications (optional): sent through Apple's push service when someone in your family adds something for you, mentions you, arrives somewhere or asks to join.
What ÆttHQ does not do
- No ads, no selling or sharing of data, no tracking across apps or websites.
- No analytics or crash reporting services.
- No data is sent to the developer.
Children
A family can include children. Their information (name, colour, plans, tasks and, if a child uses ÆttHQ on their own iPhone and chooses to, their location) is entered and managed by the family and kept in the family's iCloud, never collected by the developer. A parent can remove a child from the family at any time.
Your choices and deleting your data
- Turn location, calendars, camera and notifications on or off at any time in the iPhone's Settings.
- Remove a family member, or stop sharing the family, in the app.
- Deleting the app removes the data stored on your iPhone.
- In the app: More › Account and about › Delete account and data. This deletes your data from this iPhone and iCloud (the whole family, for everyone, if you set it up) and ends Sign in with Apple for ÆttHQ.
- To delete the family's data from iCloud by hand, go to Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage › ÆttHQ, and choose Delete Data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published here with a new date.
